(2) A valid New York State Professional Engineer’s License. Current New York State registration as a Professional Engineer must be maintained for the duration of your employment.
A masters degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) may be substituted for one year of the civil engineering experience required in “1" above.

The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Borough Based Jails (BBJ) Division seeks a Senior Construction Project Manager.
The selected candidate will manage complex capital commitment projects; review proposed projects to determine how and when the work should be performed; work with Sponsor Agencies to ensure an understanding of project scope, oversee project from conception, through design development, to construction completion and project close-out.
Reporting to the Program Executive, other key responsibilities include but are not limited to: developing deliverable dates to determine schedules that should be adhered to; supervise, coordinate, and direct project’s construction management and construction staff; appraise the Project Executive of any issues with scheduling, cost, and construction; and liaise among the BBJ Program Management Consultant (PMC), Design-Builders, regulatory entities/agencies having jurisdiction and DDC.
Other duties include maintaining comprehensive project history files, help coordinating project schedules, addressing construction and design issues, reviewing change orders, and reviewing project correspondence and reports.
In addition, the selected candidate will be responsible for utilizing the agency’s technical resources to ensure that the projects meet the Agency’s Commitment Plan objectives.
