The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings, seeks a Facility Architectural Assessor. The candidate will be responsible for conducting condition assessments in City-owned buildings.
The selected candidate will assess the physical condition of the exterior and interior building components and the building’s overall code compliance, sustainability and resiliency and outline immediate and potential problem areas so that informed decisions can be made, and priorities can be set.
Coordinate and advise on the ADA surveys being performed simultaneously to synthesize findings. Candidate will record existing conditions; provide code and local laws analysis and prepare facility assessment reports suitable for sponsor agency budget planning purposes.
Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position. NYC Department of Design and Construction does not provide sponsorship for international employees for visa applications, extensions, or status changes, including STEM/OPT visas.

This position requires a person with the physical ability to conduct site visits, including accessing stairs, catwalks, ladders, rooftops, and basements within multi-level buildings, and maneuver through confined spaces. The candidate must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing effectively.
A valid motor vehicle driver’s license is required.
