DEP's water supply system is comprised of 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes throughout the system’s 2,000 square mile watershed that extends 125 miles north and west of the City.
The Bureau of Water Supply seeks to hire a Clerical Associate II for a position with the Source Water Protection Directorate, located in Arkville, New York.
The Source Water Protection Directorate (SWP) is responsible for implementing a wide variety of partnership, regulatory and non-regulatory programs designed to protect and improve water quality in the water supply watershed. Specific duties include:
- Providing essential administrative support to the Executive Assistant
- Preparing and drafting presentations, correspondence and reports
- Scheduling and coordinating meetings
- Meet and greet DEP visitors at the Arkville office
- Managing inbound phone calls and providing necessary follow-up
- Managing incoming and outgoing mail
- Assisting with data entry and filing
- Maintaining and restocking office supplies
- Performing special tasks as assigned by the Executive Assistant

Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of Windows Operating System and MS Office Programs including:
Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and file sharing systems such as SharePoint and OneDrive.
- Ability to navigate Citytime timekeeping program.
- Ability to learn other software programs such as CMMS
Hours and Shift:
35 Hours per week. May be required to work shifts including nights, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
